The Nitty Gritty from Marketers: Next Two Years Will See More Businesses Going Mobile
Recent surveys show that biz execs anticipate a big shift to mobile.
“AdMedia Partners found that 63 percent of marketing executives said their business is currently less than 20 percent mobile, but just 24 percent of respondents expect that to be the case two years from now,” according to eMarketer.
In fact, the number of respondents expecting their businesses to be more than 60 percent mobile in two years was five times the percentage of those who say that’s the situation today.
“For example, 23 percent of marketing executives said their businesses were currently 20 percent to 40 percent mobile,” noted eMarketer. “But 41 percent of respondents said they expect that same percentage of their organization to be mobile two years from now.”
Why the shift? Obviously, businesses go where their customers and prospective patrons are — and that is increasingly mobile.
“Time spent on mobile devices is growing year over year, according to eMarketer estimates — both in absolute terms and as a share of total time spent with media,” the report concludes. “More adults are turning to their mobile devices to browse digital video and radio, as well as social networks and more.”
